Muzeum – Pražského povstání: temporary suspension of the underground service
Due to track reconstruction, the underground operation on Line C in the Muzeum – Pražského povstání section will be suspended in both directions during two consecutive weekends (20th to 21st of February 2016 and 27th to 28th February 2016, from the launch of operation on Saturday to the end of operation on Sunday).
A replacement bus service:
In the above mentioned section, a replacement bus service line XC will be established in daytime operation on the route Hlavní nádraží – Muzeum – I. P. Pavlova – Vyšehrad – Pražského povstání.
Changes to bus stops:
The Pražského povstání stop (for the direction to Nádraží Vršovice) will be established for Line No. 193 in the stop XC in the direction to Hlavní nádraží.
Availability of barrier-free connections
For the passengers who take advantage of barrier-free travelling, we offer the following alternative instead of the closed section of the underground. The passengers travelling from the Háje terminus station can, after getting off in the Pankrác station, use bus Line No. 193 to the Pražského povstání stop, where it will be possible to change to a replacement bus service. In order to improve the possibility for change during the suspension, the Pražského povstání stop will be established in the departure stop of the replacement bus service line XC for Line No. 193 in the direction to Nádraží Vršovice. On the Hlavní nádraží stop, persons with reduced mobility will be enabled (based on their previous agreement with the driver) to get off the bus line XC right to the departure stop next to elevators leading to the railway station hall. For the subsequent journey in the direction to the Letňany terminus station it is possible to use line C of the underground again.
For the journey in the opposite direction it is possible to use elevators to get off the Hlavní nádraží underground station or the Muzeum underground station and to change to the replacement bus service in the direction to Pražského povstání. For subsequent journey by the underground it is necessary to change in the Pražského povstání stop from replacement bus service line XC to bus Line No. 193 and travel as far as the Pankrác stop, where it is possible to use the elevator to the underground station and to continue by the underground in the direction to the Háje terminus station.
Several kinds of informational leaflets will be issued. The leaflets will be available in the informational showcases of the underground stations as well as at the information clerks of the Prague Public Transit Company nearby the closed stations.
For the period of the suspension (from cca. 8.00 a.m. to cca. 10.00 p.m.), a sufficient number of information clerks in the reflective vests will be deployed at all closed underground stations and in their immediate vicinity. They will be ready to advise passengers on the current public transport connection (not only in Czech but also in English). The information clerks will also be equipped with the aforementioned informational leaflets for passengers.
Starting on Wednesday the 17th of February 2016, or Wednesday the 24th of February 2016, the upcoming suspension will be announced also in the underground stations. The announcements will continue during the suspension as well.
Approximately 60 information boards with a schematic diagram and basic text information in Czech and English language will be arranged to provide the information related to the specific destination.
